Since they have no use for sales numbers on the AMS, here's some for
Megadeth's recent releases. It is posted on Blabbermouth. (US)

"The World Needs a Hero": 219,000
"Rude Awakening" (DVD): 56,000
"The System Has Failed": 170,000
"Greatest Hits: Back to the Start": 116,000 (as of Dec. 7)
MD.45 – "The Craving": 19,000 (original), 20,000 (remaster)

In a few days I should have Projector.

Seem like reasonable figures considering the state of trad and thrash metal
in the States. TShF charted in a lot of countries so I guess it`s done half
a million all in easily.

I think it's reasonable numbers as well. Since Risk was so
universally reguarded as crap, the fact they can even sell 5 copies is
probably good news to them.
The bad thing is, last numbers I saw for Risk were something over
300,000.
The CW one, which is somewhat panned, had sold I believe it's
800,000.

CW was a very succesful album from what I remember. Didn`t Trust go to no.1
in the US singles charts? It was by some distance the most commercial thing
they`d done at the time but much of it grew on me in the way the Loads
didn`t. Both Metallica and Megadeth softened their approach and styles
during the 90`s but for me Mustaine was still writing good music, even if it
wasn`t thrash ( although there are 3 songs on CW that could be classed as
thrash...She Wolf, FFF and The Disintegrators ). Other than 3 or 4 half
decent tracks on Load Metallica just wrote shit. Of course Risk was
horrible, sounded more like Bon Jovi than Megadeth and was rightly panned.
Even Mustaine seems a bit embarrased by it now reading interviews with him.
It seemed the rest of the band were slowly pulling him towards that style,
no surprise when Friedman left the band got much heavier again. I`ve read
old interviews with Friedman where he says he much preferred pop rock to
metal and was always trying to steer Megadeth that way. As great as his
playing was on RiP etc. it`s certainly a good thing he left IMO.

It might have been #1 on the rock radio tracks chart, but the top
100 singles, don't think so.

I didn't hate CW when it was released. I don't play it much now, but
I couldn't say I hate it.

I'd agree it was a good thing he left. I guess that he's been
playing in some Japanese pop music band recently.

By the way, what is the Forum in London? In Flames will play a
headlining show there on Mar. 22. Is it a club, theater, small arena?

If you haven't looked, Someone on blabbermouth got around to posting
the numbers for all their albums, video's and so on.
The early albums are somewhat off because these are Soundscan
numbers, and that didn't begin until 1991.

If it`s the place I think it is it`s a bloody great place. An old converted
theatre from years back. I think it`s where I saw Deicide headline a death
and thrash metal festival a couple of years back. Destruction, Nile, Amon
Amarth, Aker****e and Dew-Scented were on the bill as well, Deicide would
never have sold it out on their own.

I wish someone would do that around here. We've got a prime 1,600
seat old theatre downtown. It would be perfect for many touring shows.
But, no dice, that will never happen.
