hey, i am a third year student at Falmouth College of Arts in the UK
studying English with Media Studies and am writing my dissertation on
Merilyn Manson and how he was used by the christian far right as a
scapegoat for the Columbine highschool shootings, i have a few

would any of you call yourself goths? if so why?
do you think marilyn manson is authentic goth?
how do you feel about Harris and KLlebold the kids who shot pupils at
Columbine high?
did any of you read mansons reply to the press that was printed in
Rolling Stone? what did you think of it?
any other comments on the christian far right?

Not now, but I used to be semi-goth, but it was more of a fad than a serious
lifestyle thing. And unfortunately (as many would argue that MM is not goth,
as do I actually...hmmm...), the only reason I got into "that sort of thing"
was by listening to Marilyn Manson and trying to dress/wear make-up like
him, then others, etc. Sad I know, but we all do it when we're 15.... [RQA
are you listening??!!] ... but then, I'm not 15, nor was I when I started
liking MM... oh well...

some of the "what is goth" pages.


Hmmm... I don't really have an opinion. From what I know/heard, they really
should've just chilled out a bit, but hey... being a teenager aint fun at
the best of times, so add that into being American and having 100 guns to "play" with.


Not at the time, but I liked best what he said on Michael Moore's "Bowling
for Columbine", and I would stress that if you haven't seen it then you need
to see it, as it's very apt to your topic.

Like I say to anybody who uses religion as an excuse for bigotry, "chill out
dudes"... lol
