Default When/Why did MTV2 switch to '90' sitcoms?

The Wayans Bros., Martin, Malcolm & Eddie, In Living Color and
recently, Boy Meets World. The glory years of MTV2 were the earlier
years (late '90s-early 2000s). Back then they were playing videos MTV
didnt play. When MTV initially went mostly reality, you could still
say "At least MTV2 still plays music". Well that of course had to end
as well. Perhaps MTV giving up on videos has a lot to do with the
failing music industry. Maybe the the fact is that a lot of people
are lazy and don't even bother to discover music on their own.
Therefore, if MTV played a lot of videos, people would discover new
bands and buy it like they used to. Maybe people wouldn't actually
buy the music but at the very least, they would be aware that there's
new stuff out there. Yeah, there's YouTube, but there's also like a
hundred TV shows that play YouTube videos. So why not play music
videos too for that matter?

I hear VH1 Classic is the same way, except they play "classic" VH1
reality shows now. :-(
