Gene and Lars have comparable egos.

Eddie Van Halen, and Paul McCartney have pretty sizeable ego's too. Funnily
enough Eddie is the only one who has the talent to match his ego (from a
technical point of view anyway)

They all consist of 4 male bandmembers.

Yeah Paul McCartney only wrote or co-wrote 20 or 30 of the most important
and well known songs of the rock era.

Doesn't mean he has to have a giant ego, nor does it make him a technically
gifted musician. I don't deny that he was a great songwriter when he was in The
Beatles. Although I've never been impressed by any of his solo work.
