Default David Gilmour Interview

I saw a David Gilmour interview last night. A quote from it:
"Revolver ushered in the 60s".

Pretty cool, eh?

Schizoid Man sez:

Yeah, considering the 60s were more than half over when it was released.

Ironic that it was a revolver that also ended Lennon.

Hm, actually I don't know if it was a revolver or not.

But that's exactly the point. Do you think the bacch****ian and ****astic
excess of ***, drugs, rock and alcohol was around in 1963 when McCartney was
singing "I Want To Hold Your Hand?"

No, it was a late-60s phenomenon.

Era's don't neatly conform to the calendar. "The 60's" is just a name.
I would say the 60's started with Beatlemania in 1964 and ended with the end
of the Vietnam war and Nixon's resignation in '74. At that point, us hippies
patted ourselves on the back for a job well done and turned things over to
the next generation, who promptly dropped the ball and created Disco.

Who else misses those glorious times? Who else would go back? Forever.
