Default Listening/Watching tonight (OT). .Simon and Garfunkel .

My Simon & Garfunkel Concert In Central Park DVD showed up this morning. Whilst I
listen to the CD *LOTS*, I hadn't actually seen the concert for 15-16 years at
least, and a few things to note . . .

1:/ The sound. . is awesome, I'd love to hear it on a 5.1 system. . someone has done
an amazing job on this.
2:/ The picture. . . . not great but then the source material was recorded in 1981,
it's bound to have limitations. Then again it's still very very acceptable.
3:/ Simon & Garfunkel. . the music:- Holy ****ing shit, these guys are just
gobsmacking! I knew this anyway but *watching* them as well as listening to them
just drives it home how special they are/were. Were there ever two other men who
could harmonise so beautifully it brings a lump to the throat? And Art Garfunkel's
rendition of Bridge Over Troubled Water has to be watched and heard to be believed.
4:/ Simon & Garfunkel. . . The men:- It's incredibly obvious from the moment they
walk on stage that even ten years after their acrimonious split these two men still
had "issues". The tension is palpable and they hardly seem to be able to bear even
looking at one another. How the singing and overall performance is so amazing is
beyond me. Fortunately they appear to warm to each other again as the show
progresses, and by the time of "Late In The Evening" they seem to be genuinely
enjoying being together again and are smiling and joking around. But the start is. .
tense!
5:/ The backing band. . . superb! That's all I have to say about them. . superb!

Really good to own this some 16 years or so after last seeing it, and with my
sensors more attuned than when I was kid things are far more obvious to me now than
they were then.
This DVD is worth every penny of the nine quid it cost me from play.com here in
Limeyland, and I commend it to the members of the house!
OT but I know S&G have fans on the group, thought I'd share.

Drewe,

Hadn't forgotten about your 'p/g' graphic request (for tattoo). I've just
been real busy at work. I'm gonna try to post it to my website.
