Rush is a good example here. They were gone for 5 yrs with Peart losing his
wife and daughter to cancer and an auto accident.

People were saying there was no audience left..record sales were gonna be soft
etc..

Well they grossed over 30 million on their last tour and averaged 11,000 a show
with no opening act or video.

They are doing about the same business this year as far as early sales show
with Red Rocks and Toronto being the only true sell out's so far for their 30th
Anniversary tour. VH1 Classic is sponsoring it so they just rolled out a huge
commercial for it.

Van Halen is gonna get some good promos up in the next 2 weeks for the shows.
Gonna be interesting come late fall to see where they stand. They have not
toured in a long time...well Sammy has but the other 3 really haven't and I am
interested in seeing their energy levels by the 20th show.
