I have re-mastered Divine Intervention. That shit on the box set is NOT
"re-mastered", it's just a straight dub. I downloaded something called Exact
Audio Copy, which has an EQ feature, then I loaded Killing Fields and went
to work. All I really had to do was set the equalizer's 'sliders' the way I
used to set my little Radio Shack under-dash car EQ in the '70's - up a
little on the bass and the treble pots, and leave the midrange alone. This
pushed the overall volume up into the clipping zone, so I just backed down
the overall amplification by about four decibels, which still left me with a
noticeable boost over the lifeless original. Boosted, and with more dynamic
range. The results are impressive, and I'm going to put a couple tracks up
on SoulSeek if anyone is interested in checking them out today!

It sounds pretty good doesn't it? I wish I could preview how the EQ settings
are going to sound before doing the lengthy "save file" procedure (it would
have probably been even better), but I'm pretty happy with that as a stab in
the dark. I might just quit my day job!
