I`m touched to see I`ve been missed :-) My ISP has been fucking me
about for a month but things seem to be up and running alright again
now...just in time to hear the new Warrel Dane solo song on his
myspace page which rules!

I'm not sure what to make of the song on myspace. His stated
influences (bauhaus) threw me for a loop, because the music doesn't
reflect it at all.

If you have the In Memory EP, you will see they (Nevermore) covered
a Bauhaus written song. So, no surprise.

It sounded to me like one of the mellower Nevermore songs...Heart Collector
etc. Which I`m fine with. If it`s all like this though I agree, it`s hardly
the departure he hinted at.

I`ve played the album a couple of times now. If you`re expecting/hoping for
something radically different from Nevermore you`ll be disappointed but it`s
different enough to warrant him doing them as a side project.
Some of it is terrific but it`s inconsistent...the album starts and ends
very strongly but I found it patchy in the middle somewhat.

Not the expected album of the year, then?

I listened to 3 songs, hated those and gave up at that point. Utter crap.

As I said in the Metallica group, traditional metal just doesn`t seem to be
your bag. I never see you rave about anything outside the melodeath and
thrash genres. This is a decent slice of metal with the odd great tune.

It's not that I don't like traditional metal, it's just that I found this
release to be utter crap. I have given props to Airbourne quite a bit. I
enjoyed that.
So name some recent traditional metal that I should be liking then?
