Default Top 10 70`s bands

Have we done this before?

1.Black Sabbath
2.Rush
3.Rainbow ( Dio era )
4.Jethro Tull
5.Judas Priest
6.The Jam
7.Deep Purple
8.Pink Floyd
9.Hawkwind
10.David Bowie

I dithered over The Jam...their first 2 albums are pretty crap but the ones
released in `78 and `79 are awesome...and the final 2 are great but from the
80`s.
Thought about putting AC/DC in but the one album I listen to semi-regulalry
by them still is from 1980.
I only like Bowie`s early 70`s stuff...same with Alice Cooper who was a
candidate. Purple are only in on the strength of 3 albums in the very early
part of the decade but they are all stunning.
Top 3 were runaway winners for me.

It's a nice start, but you're missing:

* King Crimson
* Genesis
* Yes
* Kansas
* Fairport Convention
* Thin Lizzy
* Uriah Heep

Fix that, will ya?

Hmm I would say Kiss was a top '70's band. I know a lot of people laugh at
them, but they were pretty good even if their music was simple. Also, Heart
was right up there.

For me, Rush is always at the top. 2-10 may change but not 1
