You forgot one (and one of the best):
Golden Earring – in their 44th year!

Wayne Newton’s still at it after all these years. Why didn’t you
include him rather than all these wanna-be’s?

I’ll never be your beast of burden. Never, never, never be . . .

Wishbone Ash, The Eagles, Aerosmith, Fairport Convention ?
Funny that Led Zeppelin you have at number one only lasted twelve years.
and some of the others never announced a retirement, just had a loong hiatus
and jumped on the money wagon again when it became cool for Grandad to get
his ya ya’s out.

Uriah Heep and Hawkwind are still playing too.

Oh for Gawd’s sake…it’s just another list with most of the same bands in a
slightly different order…

It was a hot summer’s day and JJ (UK) popped out from behind a tree wearing
a hat made of leaves and a cheeky grin, saying:
Top ten list of rearranged previous lists.
And how long is long ?

At first I thought you meant ‘top ten longest lasting bands’, but your
list is patently wrong if that’s the case. The Who have been around
since ’63, Rush are still going after 30 years, 35 for Yes, probably 40+
for the Stones.
If you mean the best band out of various long lasting bands, then fair
enough. Floyd, Yes, Tull and Rush aren’t really pure Rock IMO, though
they have elements of rock in their music. Your list is probably right
on the nose for ‘most record sales’ (with exception of AC/DC who I was
surprised to see are very high in the list of all-time best sellers ever).
