Hello VH Maniacs,

long time ago I'm bit wondering where the titles "5150" and "OU812" came
from. I know that Ed called his studio 5150 too, but what does this mean?

5150 is supposed to be the LAPD code for an escaped mental prisoner.
OU812=Oh, you ate one too.

And that's why we're all so excited about a Van Hagar reunion....

and Diver Down is better? and...wait for it... II ??

Granted OU812 is lame (though not nealry as lame as F.U.C.K. but I always
though Diver Sown was just a totally silly title...

Might as well have been "Baby On Board"... or "Yield to Traffic"

Van Halen II is a decent album title...it was like their second album
and stuff. But really the point is that Van Hagar completely ****.

Diver Sown is a cool title

or "It's not as good as our previous albums, but way better than the
crap we're gonna produce when poodlehead joins the band". That's a catchy title.

Diver Down, the worst of the Roth era albums blows away *any* of the
Hagar era albums hands down. And "II" is a ****in' classic.

Hmmm, why do all people in this group are so much pi**ed of about Van Hagar,
espacially Sammy Hagar? Is there anything that I have to know? I'm not the
_biggest Van Halen Fan, but I allways bought all their albums (and playing
Eds custom made guitar since 11 years as well, because it's so great in
handling and it's tone). I'm not an fan from the beginning, I think I'd
explored this band 1990 at the "Hagar-style". All records had some great
stuff and of course some lower songs. For my personal taste Sammy is one of
the greatest rock-singers and rock-entertainers as well, and nowadays I'm
trying to sounds like him for an new little musician project (I think that
will get me in higher areas, ...today it sounds well and the other guys are
much impressed - so I can't believe it).

I'm glad if anyone could tell me something.

No I don't, but you'll tell me, or not? The things about Sammy are kind of
mystery for me, therefore I've done the request...

I'll say it again that I'm not the biggest fan from Van Halen and I don't
know all that things around the members, like you do.

Sorry at all if I'm at the wrong way!

OU812 was also a license plate on one of Hagar's Ferrari's.

Hello? We're talking about the NAME of the ALBUM, not the musical merit. Of
course II is a classic. Diver Down is by far the weakest roth-era record but
does have classic moment or two. Personally I think OU812 is a better album
than Diver Down. I always thought Diver Down was too short for starters and
there are two cover tunes and a couple of novelty pieves on there, leaving
ony a few new VH tunes...
