Default Is Rock Dead??

Hello Rock fans,

If Eddie is not able to get it together with Van-Halen, does this spell
the
end for rock as we know it?

I don't know about you but I find myself listening less and less to so
called "the best new rock, the best classic rock" type stations. Since
there IS NOTHING NEW WORTH LISTENING to nowadays, I just would tune in
for the classic rock but even that is the same old tired shit(Floyd,
Petty, LedZip, etc). Most of these program directors need a good kick
in the ass.

It's understood that ALL NEW ROCK ****S. Where is the fun? Where is
the energy? Contemporary rock is good just for wanting to blowing yer
brains out but that's about it. The only ray of light here are The
Donnas (don't laugh!) cause it's true! Here is a good measure for rock,
if it don't wanna make you air guitar or air drum, it ****s. Case
closed.

Thanks,
EL

Aww, quit yer bitching.

There's some great stuff that's been released thsi year if you'd climb
out from under your rock and look around and check out what's out there.
Recent excellent releases by Jane's Addiction, Killing Joke, Iggy Pop,
Anthrax, Rancid, Black Rebel Motorcyle Club, The Crown, Iron Maiden,
Rush, Gary Moore and a few others cover all the bases whether you're
looking for shredding widdly-diddly guitar antics or down and dirty
three chord bash-fests complete with naughty cuss words in their lyrics!
So far, this year's been the best year for rock in roll in the past 3 or
4 years combined.

Feel better now?

T.B.

No. You're painting blood on the walls with this negativity. We are
lucky. We will always have Pantera. And Zakk Wylde.

***i'll back you up on the new anthrax (we've come for you all). took me
a few spins to get into the whole album but now i'm digging just about
every track. really like the stuff they've done with john bush since he
came aboard on vox.

I saw them last Summer on tour and it was a surprisingly good show given
I'd lost interest in them after they failed to come up with anything as
good (for me anyway) as "The Sound of White Noise" years ago.

***i saw the last tour also and was surprised how much pre-bush era
stuff they played (and the lack of bush era they didn't play). still, a
good time.

i do disagree regarding your sound of white noise comment- i thought
stomp 442 has been their best, overall (it was the one after white
noise) and volume 8/ the threat is real and we've come for you all are
about equal with white noise. all are very good.

Go out and buy the Rush in Rio dvd. It shows that guys in their late
40's/early 50's can still rock out and kick ass with the best of them.
