This whole 'Hagar-thing' sounds a lot like the 'Roth-thing' back in '96. We
heard about Dave being back and it ended up being for only 2 songs on
Greatest Hits cd.

Anyone else think that 2004 will bring upon us Greatest Hits Vol2 featuring
a couple new Spammy tunes????

Actually there were very strong rumors a couple months ago of a second
"Best Of" that would probably feature a couple new tracks recorded with
Roth in 2000 and maybe a new Hagar track once it was known that the
brothers were talking with Sammy that was being pushed for a December
release.

I thought that as well, but they already have a song or two with Hagar,
probably one or two with Roth, and an album of stuff with Cherone. They
wouldn't need to bring Hagar in... they could have just released the shit they
have already.

I guess it would make sense to "sell" the album, that they need a singer to be
seen with, but if it's just for show why not go with Dave?

I think I speak for everyone one I say if they do the same with Sammy as
they did with Dave just to sell another greatest hits CD I will NEVER buy
another new VH album.

Actually, it's gonna be two new covers. Spammy will do "All you need is love"
Ed is singing "With a little help from my friends." Spammy's cover is a
perfect match for him - "there's nothing you can do that can't be done" is
almost as profound as "only time will tell if we stand the test of time." And
imagine a drunk Ed staggering up front, "What would you think if I sang out a
tune........"

He's desperate to get back in Van Halen and has been almost since the
day he was thrown out. Just about every interveiw I've ever read about
sammy has at some point a question along the lines of "So if Eddie
decided he wanted you back in the band, would you go for it?" and his
reply is always "Sure, we would just have to square our differences"
which boils down to money.

How would you like to be in Hagars band knowning the guy could at any
moment say "sorry guys, I'm getting back with the 5150 brothers, you're
fired." I mean, it's not like Korn or any other name band is going to
hire Mona as their bass player or the guitarist will find work in Living
Colour if their guitarist bails on that band.
