Monitor system performance to identify and correct performance problems. Perform commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software and hardware tests to determine applicability to enhance system performance. Monitor systems performance, system availability, transactions processed and user response times on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Provide daily performance statistics and workload balancing recommendations to DECC DET operations managers. Analyze current and projected workloads as basis for long-range capacity planning to assess hardware limitations and capabilities for new and/or increased workloads. Provide recommended procedures for integrating new workloads onto the computer systems. All problems will be logged and tracked in the DECC DET Remedy Trouble Management System. Evaluate reported customer problems and provide problem reports and analysis. Use processes, procedures, and hardware/software tools or utility suites such as Tivoli, HP Open View, etc., chosen and established by the Government. The candidate will need someone with excellent analytical skills, excellent communication/leadership skills, experience in process development & management required, minimum 3 years experience in HP-UX or Solaris Operating Systems Administration. Previous experience in Air Force Global Command Control Systems (GCCS) would be a definate plus.
