Senior Mechanical Designer MUST BE US CITIZEN

Summary of Functions:

1) Design and Draft new product Designs.
2) Maintain Computer generated CAD files according to company standards.
3) Create Bills of Material, Assembly Drawings, Instructions and other product documentation.
4) Participate in Prototype Build and Test.
5) Support other departments in the procurement, assembly and test of our products.
6) Research and resolve design problems.
7) Maintain project schedules and report progress as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Will perform design and documentation functions as instructed via Engineering Work Orders. Will work with Program Managers, Customers and other departments to identify, design and then verify designs. Will have full project responsibility on some projects and will work as a member of a design team on others.
Participates in research for material and product selection.
May visit sub-contractors, vendors and customers to perform various engineering functions.

Organizational Relationships:

Must coordinate with various departments, such as, Sales, Program Management, Quality, Materials and Manufacturing.


Experience / Education Requirements:

The Senior Mechanical Designer will have an undergraduate degree or 8+ year's experience in a related field.
Experience in the design and manufacture of Sheet Metal Enclosures for Electronics is required.
Experience in the design and manufacture of Rack Mount Computer Products preferred.
Must be familiar with standard Engineering and Drafting concepts, practices and procedures within a manufacturing environment.
