Intro Job ResponsibilitiesA subject matter expert in the area of military training, Training Aids Devices, Simulators, and Simulations and the Distributed Battle Simulation Program. Performs duties as a special staff officer to the commander of Enhanced Separate Brigades and Divisions. Serves as a mentor, trainer, and confidant to the commander and his or her staff. Recommends training, strategies, methodologies, develops annual training plans, and advises the commander on the use and integration of TADSS in order to maximize time constraints during compressed training cycles. Required EducationEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree from an accredited college. Prefer computer science, information systems, mathematics or engineering disciplines. Required Work ExperienceRequires 10 - 15 years directly related experience supporting military operations, or equivalent combination of education, training or military experience. Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, processes, and applicable regulations involved in supporting military operations; Advanced knowledge of relevant hardware, software, and other equipment as assigned; Ability to serve as a technical team or task lead; Knowledge and expertise in developing homeland defense exercise support scenarios; Two or more years working with and using Computer Assisted Training exercises. Other Desireable RequirementsTravel throughout the United States will be required on a routine basis. Other job related qualifications specific to position: Retired National Guard Officer (05/06) with intensive experience managing with at least 2 years relevant experience in a position with duties commensurate to those defined in the task order requirement; or 5 years specialized experience. Training management background and Combat Training Center (CTC) experience. Combat Arms, Combat Support, or Combat Service Support Officer with command or staff experience at Battalion, Brigade, and/or Division level. Recent experience working within the National Guard training support system. Basic and Advanced Officer Course Graduate, and Command and General Staff College Graduate. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
