Creative job in Ames, Iowa - Tech Writer!

Impact Innovations Group has an immediate opening for a professional Technical Writer who has experience creating technical illustrations. All candidates must be able to detail the required skills listed below in their resumes. Candidates must located in the Ames area, or be willing to relocate themselves - client is not covering relocation costs. Candidates must be prepared to submit a portfolio of their work during the interview process. Salary is competitive in the Ames market.

Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, journalism, English, communications, marketing, or technical service/support
Two years minimum experience technical writing in a manufacturing or laboratory environment
Proven communications skills
Firm understanding of English grammar, punctuation, usage, and writing styles
Firm understanding of technical illustration methods and principles
Strong desktop publishing experience/skills
Strong mechanical aptitude
Experience/understanding of fluid power systems helpful

Relevant Information
You will design, write, and illustrate technical and marketing literature and communications, including, but not limited to: Technical Information Manuals, Service Manuals, Repair Manuals, Product Brochures, Service Parts Manuals, Tech Notes, Service Bulletins, Product Information Bulletins, Data Sheets, User/Operator Manuals, Sales Kits, Training Materials, Press Releases, Technical Articles, and Computer Animations. You will manage printing and electronic publishing of all of the above.
