JOB TITLE: Primary Development Mechanical Engineer
LOCATION: Ames, US-IA
JOB TYPE: Contract
SALARY : $60000 - $75000


DESCRIPTION:
Job Summary:
�œAssume Design Engineering responsibility for the identification and
development of new Product lines/features.

Duties and Responsibilities:
�œCreate innovative concepts and document through invention disclosure process.
�œOversee the Primary design of platform products, subsystems or components to
improve the quality, function, performance, cost and reliability.
�œPlan and review work done by the Model Shop, Test and Evaluation Labs,
Reliability Lab, and Home Economics Lab.
�œProvide and coordinate the appropriate documentation throughout the project
including; Business Case; Project Record; Design and Process Verification
including FMEA and Agency related activities; Gantt charts; Engineering and
Production Pilots Forms and Document Change/Requests.
�œProvide direction to CAD operators and/or develop appropriate CAD models
using CATIA.
�œProvide technical guidance, instructions and assignments to lab technicians
and CAD operators.
�œWork with outside suppliers to establish expected contributions toward
product development goals and programs.
�œLead or participate in cross-functional teams to support projects.
�œSupport Product Development and Product Care teams as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
�œBachelor of Science Degree in ME, EE, Ag. E,
�œMinimum of three (3) years experience in a related Design Engineering
function.
�œEnergetic, Forward Thinking, Creative and Action Oriented.
�œCATIA
�œMicrosoft Word, Excel and Project.
�œFailure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Finite Element Analysis, and other
preferred
�œExperience working in a high-volume consumer goods industry is a plus.
�œStrong Communication and Leadership Skills
�œProject Management Experience
�œWilling to travel domestically and globally approx 20-30%
�œUnderstanding of basic Financials and Financial Measures
