Description: Westtown Consulting Group is looking for UP TO 5 candidate to fill long term contracts in Southbury, CT. Candidate should possess the following skillset:

Primary skill is Netbackup and Arcserve. ( We have positions ranging from 2+ years to senior level)

Job description follows:

-Managing tape lists and processes for off-site tape rotation schedules.
-Interface to the I/O planning team dealing with the handling of any and all tapes in SBY or off-site
-Ensure there are sufficient scratch tapes for the coming scheduled backups.
-Responsible for support of the distributed systems backups.
-Install, upgrade, and patch backup software as well as installations and updates to hardware, firmware and drivers.
-Build backup jobs, configure, schedule, execute, monitor, report on, and restore of data per business requirements.
-Perform hardware and software troubleshooting to resolve any issues that might occur with backups/restores.
-Provide on-call and after hours/weekend support of account.
-A pager will be provided and must be worn
-Investigate issues regarding backup failures and/or latency issues to assist in meeting customer expectations and set upon backup Windows.
-Provide data analysis as required which may include backup transfer rates, number of backups executed, amount of data backed up, number of clients backed up.
-Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of new or upgraded
backup solutions.
-Work with team members to cross train and to co-support multiple backup platforms of several different software brands and versions. (Omniback, Legato TSM, Arcserve and Backup exec)
-Attend meetings as required to discuss new Request For Services requests and provide input concerning backups.
-Use the ManageNow and Change Management tools to schedule/implement
changes, and to open and update problem tickets.
