Description: Job Title: Senior Developer
Work Location: Northern, NJ
Responsibilitiesevelops web-based highly-available, high-performance, thin-client Internet web application used by a large number of clients to gain access to timely reports about their portfolios and trading/clearing activity, as well as to perform several functions related to prime brokerage and other clearing activities. The Senior Developer will be involved in the full project life cycle while working with project managers and business user representatives to provide effective technical solutions.
Platforms:Must be proficient in UNIX (Solaris) and Windows platforms, and in developing under the J2EE specification, especially servlets, JSPs, and XML/SOAP. Familiarity with WebLogic, BroadVision, and Cognos are a plus.
GUI Systems:Must be familiar with web GUI development in Java using JSP, servlets, HTML, and JavaScript. Familiarity with Struts, or portlet development is a plus.
Database Systems:Must have good understanding of relational database systems, especially DB2 and Sybase.
Other Programming Skills:A thorough understanding of J2EE concepts, XML, SOAP, web services, and a solid grounding in object-oriented design concepts is required. Experience in developing large-scale object-oriented systems is also required. Experience in developing high-performance, highly-available web sites is a strong plus.
Business Knowledge:Experience in the Securities industry is a strong plus.
Project Experience:This position requires a minimum of eight years of large-scale object-oriented application development experience, which includes at least three years of professional experience using J2EE technologies.
