Purpose Develop, maintian and support of The Home Depot s
hardware and software business applications. Major Tasks,
Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities * Development and
maintenance of business software appkciations: degugging,
designing, coding, testing, spec writing, rollout, and user
support. * Technical services: software and hardware
architecture design and maintenance; security operations. *
Data modeling, database administration; software architecture
engineering; methodology Store engineering and roll-out
implementation. * Desktop (PC) platform and software
configuration, debugging, and support. * Accurate work planning
and execution; accurate project and time tracking. Skills
Needed Java Servlets, Java Script, Java Application * Applet,
Ksh, Perl, HTML, QTP, Mainframe Cobol Services, C, XMLPreferredMS
Access, MS SQL Server, VB, Informix /4GL, CrystalSiebel 7.x,
Optio, Vantive, Accucobol on AIX, Kana, Blue Pumpkin, IBM Direct
Talk, Java Beans, IIS, FTP, CGI, JDBC Nature and Scope *
Manager or Team Lead in the position of Chief Systems Engineer
* Responsible for helping others and providing on-the-job
training or guidance * Typically considers courses of action
within broad policies and medium term goals when solving
problems. * Typically required to provide status reports to
management as appropriate. * Typically has frequent contact
outside workgroup. * Typically faces situations that have a
variety of interpretations and require careful evaluation. *
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Environmental Job Requirements Located in a comfortable indoor
area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not
objectionable. Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable
position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare
occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Essential Functions: Minimum Qualifications Must be eigh****
years of age or older Must pass the Drug Test Must pass the
Background Check Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable
Education Required The knowledge, skills and abilities typically
acquired through the completion of a bachelor s degree program or
equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job. Years
of Relevant Work Experience C B 2 Preferred Qualifications *
Bachelors degree in computer science or related field is
preferred. * General knowledge of the PC (hardware and
software) is essential. * This person should have extremely
good people skills. * They should be able to listen to what the
user is saying and then interpret what he/ she is trying to get
across. * The ability to work autonomously is also essential.
* Most of the time your are given projects to do with very little
or no direction. * Initiative is another skill that is
essential. Being able to present ideas and take charge of
projects and getting them completed is very important. *
Communication skills are invaluable- his person must be able to
