Exp in systems analysis, software design and development, or

Exp developing client/server and web software applications
using ASP.
Exp developing software applications that run on Microsoft
XP client and Microsoft 2000/2003 server operating systems,
including IE Web Controls, IIS, and NTFS Security.
Exp in using Microsoft .NET framework and Microsoft Visual
Studio.NET tools in developing intranet applications,
including Visual Basic .NET, C# .NET, ADO.NET, ASP.NET, and
Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET in developing
intranet applications.
Exp working in structured client / server analysis and
design using UML models, and developing testing
documentation.
Exp working effectively in a project team environment.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to transfer knowledge to personnel.
Ability to communicate technical information effectively.
Ability to work independently and use good judgment to
establish work plan and priorities based on set objectives.
Exp designing and writing software that runs on a Windows XP
operating system
and accesses an Oracle database on an AIX operating system.
Exp designing client / server applications using the
Rational Rose tool.
Exp using Rational XDE Professional.
Exp using Visual Source Safe for software version control
and backup.
Exp using the Robohelp tool for online help.
Working knowledge of software development life cycle and
project management methodologies.
Exp using ESRI ArcIMS, ArcSDE, ArcGIS including ArcInfo and
ArcVIEW, and ArcObjects to display application data on a
map.
Exp using Oracle database files in client / server
applications.
Microsoft certified training in the Microsoft .NET framework
preferred.
ESRI certified training in ArcIMS and ArcGIS and ArcSDE
preferred.
Exp modeling data and designing database files for an Oracle
database.
Exp performing DBO tasks for a software application using an
Oracle database.
Exp using Microsoft Access.
Exp testing application software using the Rational Suite
TestStudio.
Exp using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint.
Exp using Microsoft Project.
Exp using Dreamweaver to write documentation.
Exp using Adobe Photoshop to write documentation.


Scope: This specification is for the services of a senior
programmer analyst who will be the technical production


and online updating. Data can be queried online, and batch
reports can be requested. Data can also be queried online
spatially, using the mapping software and files.
Review, modify, and test existing software programs and
related artifacts to keep production software application up
and running, in accordance with IT standards. Code and test
new software programs to keep production software
application up and running, in accordance with IT standards.
Work with other staff to determine status of partially
completed application software and related artifacts.
Develop support documentation including directory structure
layouts, access control lists, system master list of all
software programs and related artifacts to document
application software. Complete conversion of legacy data to
production database. Determine a more detailed assessment of
partially completed application software and related
artifacts. Learn and document application design and
architecture. Assist in preparing technical portions of a
competitive solicitation to complete the application.
Convert application from internal spatial files to TxDOT
standard spatial files, as time permits. Perform minor
enhancements to application, as time permits.
Diagnose and resolve production problems. Assist users in
production problem diagnosis and resolution. Provide
training and documentation sufficient to enable personnel to
provide maintenance and on-going support to application
software. Log and document all problems and solutions.
Provide written weekly status reports to project supervisor.
Provide oral status as needed to project supervisor.
