Engineering professionals in a James Hardie manufacturing plants
are responsible for working with other engineers in the
Production and Finishing Departments to design and implement
process improvements; lead the quality improvement process;
analyze product performance issues; develop and manage capital
project; and handle other production engineering projects as
necessary.

Successful candidates for these positions will possess a
bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial
Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Paper Science & Engineering,
or other related engineering degree from an ABET-accredited
institution (an advanced degree is a plus); as well as some
relevant experience working in a continuous process manufacturing
environment (i.e.: raw materials to finished goods). All
successful candidates must be able to demonstrate an
analytical/mechanical approach to problems; demonstrate knowledge
of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in a
manufacturing environment. Not required, but would be a plus:
supervisory experience, experience in paper manufacturing or
other sheeted process, experience in building products/building
materials, working familiarity with AutoCad, and capital project
management experience.
