Description: Major Duties:

· Contribute to the architecture design for messaging systems and web services products (e-mail, portal services, news, unified messaging, etc.).

· Provide guidance and accept accountability for the performance and reliability of the Messaging System to ensure that system failures are restored in a timely manner.

· Perform and document testing methods and test automation techniques related to the development of email, web mail, and portal services.

· Participate in the review of catastrophic failures and provide feedback to prevent future occurrences.

· Work with other members of Comcast IP Services team, work with third party vendors and Cable systems to ensure inter-operability of Messaging System with network and business applications.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Carry a pager 24x7, some travel required.

Education:
· B.S. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent in work experience & self study.

Experience:
· At least 1 year of experience experience supporting a high transaction, e-mail/web environment required.

· Direct experience iPlanet Messaging, iPlanet Calendar, iPlanet Instant Messaging and iPlanet Address
Book server products.

· At least 1 yr. hands-on experience with technologies such as: LDAP, SUN-Solaris, HTML, and Java.

· Minimum of 1 yr experience with deployment of networking equipment (CISCO routers, Alteon, EMC disk arrays) to support a high transaction e-mail/web environment.

· Demonstrated understanding of software life cycle development including design, test (unit, system, regression) and integration.
