Engineering Manager III #3237<br> <br> • Report to the Director
of Electric Drive Systems, and be the primary General Atomics,
Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) Division, engineering project
management representative in Washington, D.C. As such, perform as
the lead, local engineering project management contact with the
U.S. Navy NAVSEA program executive offices at the Washington D.C.
Navy Yard, the ship design agents such as NGSS, NGNN or BIW, Navy
NAVAIR program executive office in the Washington DC area, Office
of Naval Research in the Washington DC area, NAVSEA technical
team members such as Anteon Corp in Washington D.C. and
Annapolis, MD, and NSWCCD in Philadelphia.<br> • Support project
management of various EMS projects such as Integrated Fight
Through Power (IFTP), Homopolar Motor (HPM), Electromagnetic
Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS), Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG),
rail gun and others, by performing a key project management role
in technical meetings in both Washington D.C. and San Diego and
customer facilities. Make programmatic presentations to the
customer. Provide management leadership to meeting with the
various customers to assure customers technical specifications,
budgets and schedules are being met and the customer is satisfied
with GA's overall performance.<br> • Be a key contributor to EMS
technical proposals, and white papers on customer technical
requirements.<br> • Develop new technical ideas, quality
improvements and new business opportunities for EMS equipment
based on customer feedback.<br> • Support project management of
field-testing as required at NSWCCD Philadelphia, PA or
Lakehurst, NJ. Perform project management visits of
subcontractors such as SatCon, Neeltran, Foster Miller, JJMA,
Kato, and various test labs etc.<br> • Represent EMS Programs at
conferences and trade shows as required.<br> • Assist the
Director of EMS Business Development in marketing EMS programs
and assist in Congressional staff briefings as required.<br>

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
• BS, MS or PhD in engineering with 10 years progressively more
complex engineering management experience.<br> • Demonstrated
capability to independently interface with customers, government
representatives, program managers and engineering
professionals.<br> • Demonstrated leadership and ability to work
closely with a diverse technical team in multiple locations.<br>
• Demonstrated project management experience in managing budget,
schedule and reporting to the customer, preferably for U.S.
government contracts.<br> DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:<br>
• Experience designing, managing, testing and/or operating
electrical systems for Naval ships.<br> OTHER PARTICULARS:<br>
Will require travel to General Atomics, San Diego as frequently
as once per month.<br>
