PROPOSALS AND AGREEMENTS FOR BROADLY
DEFINED, HIGHLY COMPLEX AND/OR CRITICAL PROJECTS.
ABILITY TO REVIEW, DRAFT AND NEGOTIATE AMENDMENTS, CHANGES
AND/OR EXTENSIONS TO THESE AGREEMENTS.
ABILITY TO INTERACT WITH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CLIENTS
AND/OR VENDORS AT
VARIOUS LEVELS REGARDING CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENTS.
ABILITY TO PROVIDE CONTRACT-RELATED TRAINING TO INTERNAL
CLIENTS.

The ideal Senior Contract Specialist candidate will have a
minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible and extensive
experience with federal Government contracts, preferably,
experience in commercial contracting and some knowledge of
contract law and, ideally, experience in a well recognized
IT services company. The successful candidate will appreciate
the complexities of conducting business with the U.S.
Government. Due to the unique challenges of this opportunity,
the Senior Contract Specialist must:
Possess practical, independent judgment and self-confidence
Be entrepreneurial and willing to find a practical solution
to every business and contractual question. Be able and willing
to solve challenges. Be able to work with little or no
supervision. Be proactive, not reactive. Be able to work in
crisis mode Specific experience necessary for the Senior Contract
Specialist to excel includes:
Extensive understanding of contract law, regulation and industry
practices unique to U.S. Government contracting.
Negotiating and drafting contracts (preferably in the IT industry
and U.S.Government sector).
Some knowledge of industry norms and of the business and contract
issues unique to IT services.
Prior successful collaboration with business executives in a
rapidly changing business and contract environment.
Strong risk management skills.
7 -10 or more years of related experience.


Scope: This critical position to support the NMCI contract requires
a through understanding of, and significant experience in,
contract law and federal government contracting. The
candidate must be able to rapidly develop innovative
solutions to exremely complex issues associated with the
contract for this program. Superior drafting skills as well
as strong ****ytical, communication, presentaiton and
negotiation skills are required. The ideal candidate to fill
this position will be an energetic, self-motivated,
creataive, team player that can also work independently with
minimal direction. The combination of skills are experience
required for this position are unique and not generally
found within this corporation outside legal affairs. The
required knowledge of federal government law, both tradition
and commerical item, is a niche area. Finally, because the
skill requirements are needed immediately for a strategic
account, there is no time for on the job training.
