Up for auction is a complete set of Encyclopedia Britannica 9th edition from
1890 & published by R.S. Peale of Chicago. "A Dictionary Of Arts, Sciences,
Literature, And General Information". In 24 volumes plus 1 index.
Red/burgandy leather(?) hardcovers with nice gold gilt lettering & design
&marbled page edges. Profusely illustrated as is evident from the pics
below. The first print of this edition was published, I believe, in 1878 so
this is an updated version of the 9th edition. Also included is a set of 5
volumes of the American Supplement dated 1888 to 1889. Overall, the set is
in about very good (VG) condition. Most are solid copies but with some spine
corner wear/pieces missing. Five of the volumes have more serious condition
problems & are denoted below. I did not detect any missing page in any of
the volumes including the problem volumes. The page quality overall is very
nice & clean. I am by no means an expert on Britannica sets so if you have
questions feel free to ask. The shipping weight on the set will be in the
neighborhood of 125 pounds & I plan on shipping the set in 5 boxes via UPS
(Fedex Ground & USPS media mail also available). The winning bidder will pay
