Up for auction is Hiroshima by John Hersey from 1946 & published by Alfred
A. Knopf (A Borzoi Book) of New York. The book measures 5.25" x 7.75", has
green tweed hardcovers with brown lettering/design, has it's original dust
jacket, & is 118 pages in length. I believe this is a 1st edition. The book
is a solid/tight copy in very fine plus (VF+) condition with a little dust
soiling to 3 or 4 of the right outside edges & a yellow dust shadow to the
inside front cover/1st interior blank page from clipped newspaper photo. The
dust jacket is in fine to very fine condition with a slight amount of front
cover dust soiling in places, a 1/4" front cover bottom edge tear, a 1/4"
back cover top edge tear, a couple of 1/8" front cover top edge tears, a
little age yellowing, & a little light wear. Also included is a newspaper
clipping of a picture Hiroshima (from 11/17/45) from an unknown newspaper
dated 10/2/46.
