I believe this is OK to post here. If not, I'm sure I'll find out
soon enough <g>. Ok, here's the HYPE:

Is your comic book collection rapidly spiraling out of control?

Instead of typing in each issue, how would you like to pull title
data, issue data and cover images from one of the largest comic
database on the web?

Do you buy the same issue over and over because you forgot you already
had that one?

Do you want to know how much you've been spending on what some, less
enlightened people might consider a fairly frivolous hobby (you might
want to keep this info confidential)?

Would you like to know which issues of any given title you DON’T
OWN?
If the answer to any of these questions is "YES" (and even if it
isn’t), get organized with

Realms of Wonder Comic Tracking Software
www.realmsofwonder.com

Download a fully functional demo version and try everything out
yourself:

www.realmsofwonder.com/demvers.htm

suggestions from users worldwide. Here are just a few (and only a few)
of the features:

Realms allows you to pull the title data, issue data and cover images
from the web

how big

each of the titles you collect

70+ fields available for tracking issue info including unlimited
creative team entry, support for anthology and TPB issues, tracking of
all character appearances, unlimited number of images with any issue,
and more

20+ standard reports including Wish List, Subscription list, Missing
Issues (shows you what you DON'T OWN), expense reports (I spent how
much??!!!), and more

Unlimited Ad Hoc reporting capabilities - design your own reports and
print them, or export them to almost any format - Excel, Word, Html,
etc.

Online support, as well as an available listserv with hundreds of
current users worldwide

And more, more, more.

But, don’t believe me. Try it yourself

SJD,

His support is amazing!

Heck he even answers my stoopid questions bout the program...<<<

Thanks for the support. You're being accused of being a plant by Mr.
DeVowe, who appears to be somewhat "miffed" by my posting (though I'm a bit
confused as to why).

Regardless, thanks again.

F.X.,

My client is, in fact, the person you spoke with, and I appreciate your
offer to help. I have just come from your web site. Your software looks
excellent.

From your messageboard, I notice you're using Access as a database engine.
This is perfect for my needs, as I'll be able to manipulate the data if
necessary after it's entered to produce other types of listings. My biggest
concern was getting all of this data locked away in a proprietary database.

I plan to download/install the software on her machine sometime early next
week. She plans to do the data entry (why, I cannot fathom). Her guess of
5000 issues means she'll be at it a while. She's running a rather dusty
copy of Windows NT 4.0, but your site says it works fine on that platform.

As I said earlier, I'm not a comics affecianado, so I couldn't hazard a
guess at the value of these issues. Knowing her son, it's likely a great
collection.

For any concerned, this message is unsolicited and by a real person. Play
nice!

Hey I have a question.
I have several thousand issues of comics (Really I wouldn't mind
selling about 2/3 of my collection but don't see that happening
anytime soon.)
So of course number of titles is insane. However, I already have my
own excel document that to track all these. The format is below, one
entry per cell, numbers not in seperate cells, and imagine about 1000
rows of this:

Daredevil V2: #1/2-50
Darkness #1/2, 1**, 2-10, 11*8, 12-40 Vol2: #1-4
Defiance #1-8
Detective Comics #A6-9, 1M, 0, 635-658, 659-660*, 661**, 662*,
663-666**, 667, 668*, 669-700, 701-702*, 703-785
Elektra VII #1-25
(* = two copies, ** = three copies and so on)

Is there a way to use the program and that online access feature to
fill out the database without having to retype a ton of information?

The numbers not in a separate cell makes it a little tougher to work with.
As long as the format is consistent (title, #, issues comma separated), I
should be able to get it into the DB. The asterisks are a bit of a problem
since they are a wildcard character, but let me take a look.

Send me a copy of the Excel file (support@realmsofwonder.com). I'll convert
it for you and create shell records in the DB, and send it back to you. You
can then use those to pull the rest of the data from the web.

You can do that all with the demo. If you decide you like what you see, and
you'd like to use ROW regularly, you can register at your convenience. If
not, you'll at least have your existing info in an easier to use format.

Thanks,

F.X.

Well you can be "cynical", but don't take it out on FX Moon!

.."Sheet" you can even go back and do an SJD search in this group re
Arrowsmith review or my "Thor Lame character" thread... to see that I am
real or 'unreal" as my missus would say...

I still say the program rocks and FX's dedication goes above and beyond
what you see from so called "professional" developers...

Cheers, SJD

I've just seen so many set ups like this by dedicated spammers trying to
promote their product/service using multiple NNTP accounts and aliases that
I don't trust anything. All I can say is that I'm sorry, if this is in fact
legit.

No problem at all. This is actually legit. One of the reasons I
don't post here very often is that I don't want it to look like the
standard spam, and I know how annoying that is. Also, I don't think
too may people (or at least, not me) are making much money selling
comic software. I do it because I enjoy it, and I've gotten to
"meet" a great bunch of people with the same hobby.

Thanks,

F.X.

I use a product called ComicBase. It's pricey but is a GREAT product.
