Default Knife Set from Cutco (Knife)

This is COMPUTER NEWSGROUP Ansul. Your kitchen knife set has absolutely
nothing to do with computers. In addition, posting of images in a non-binary
newsroup is extremely poor etiquette. Try turning on your brain before your
fingers.

I can see why you're smart enough to post 1/2 meg of binary in a non-binary
group:

1) You bought a set of knives "Retail Value goes over $600 CD" even though
"Me not a cook by any chance!" (Why did you buy these knives in the first
place?!)

2) You were enlightened by Cutco 'marketing', and hope that someone else
could benefit too; by selling a set of demo knives @ $400, which could be
had at $100 to $145 depending on how 'nice' your 'manager' was.

I've seen these demos, and if one truly believes that these knives are worth
$600+ CDN, well... I really don't know what to say...

Read more here: http://www.marketingcritic.info/

My advice: sell them for what they're worth (ie: $600+ if someone perceives
its worth to be such... yeah right.)

No man.. there is advertising company for Cutco... I believe it's called Lotus.
They pay great premiums to people who sell their stuff. That's why he is advertising in this newsgroup.
Cutco knives are awesome (my family has a set), but prices for them are really really high...

The marketing 'firm' is actually "Vector Marketing". Read more about their
tactics here http://www.marketingcritic.info/

I'm not here to debate the quality of the knives (someone came over and did
a 1:1 demo, and yes they cut through *DRY* leather, and *DRY* ropes); but
the set being sold here is the 'demo set' which is required for all
'recruits'. You cannot find the set sold here from Cutco/Vector directly --
unless of course you join them.

The set in question, costs $100-$145; the huge markup by Vector/Cutco is to
cover their 'life-time warranty' -- gives u a new knife if you ship them
back the old one + SH charges. You can see why they would need to charge
you 6X the price for a single knife...

The person can sell his/her set @ $400, but I'm just giving a heads-up to
anyone who's prepared to pay 3X for a set of 'used knives' (ie: If you're
truly interested in this set, go find a cutco rep, tell them you want to
join, buy the set new...)

They are crap. My sister got ****ed into 'working' for them. Not only are
they horrible to work for (as can be expected), but as others have said, you
can get another set of knives that are of comparable quality for
significantly less money.

The sales 'tactics' that are supposed to be employed are rather underhanded,
as well. I would never buy from them on general principal, even if they
improved their quality and dropped the price.

In Short, Good Knives, Bad Company (Very Bad). I know from personal
experience.

I still have the knives and use them daily after 7 years. However I
never made any money as they refused to pay.

It's just unfortunate that they depend on preying on people in
vulnerable positions to hawk stuff to their friends and family.

Jamie.
