Just got a working set of non-occlusive ear molds for my Triano S3s.
I have moderate HF loss but normal LF hearing. After months of
sounding like I had an intolerable slight head cold, the new ear molds
really work. Music and speech are again a delight. My audiologist
says that, considering my sensitivity to occlusion effect, I would
never be happy with a CIC or ITC model. These are the second
non-occlusive ear molds for me. The first set didn't have a large
enough cut out in the canal and the LF resonance it introduced sounded
like my head was in a cardboard carton. They were returned and
replaced with a more open pair. Even then, drilling larger vent holes
helped even more.

What do you mean by "non-occlusive ear molds" ?

I had a similar experience with my Trianos. Heard every step I took,
every bite when eating, breathing like "Darth Vader", etc.
I removed my vent plugs, and everything has been wonderful every
since!

From # 14 on, are non-occlusive. They don't completely fill the
canal. I have #22. I don't think the numbers mean anythng across
suppliers.
