Default Free Tram

Can you tell me about free trams? Do they take all of the abdomenal muscles?
Half? Will I be able to do sit-ups again?

Anne,
I had a pedicle flap done about four years ago. This is the flap procedure
that tunnels the "sit-up" muscles up from your abdomen to create the
"breast." In my case, I have not done sit-ups since surgery (although it
has not kept me from many other forms of exercise).

The free flap involves moving a chunk of tissue from elsewhere on the
body...it does not remain attached as it does for the pedicle flap. This
tissue can come from just about anyplace - your bum, saddlebags, etc. Thus,
depending on where it comes from it will or will not effect your ability to
do sit-ups.

I'll be getting a Free Tram, and it's coming from my abs.

My doctor said he will remove between 5 and 10% of the abs. Is this
standard?

It seems to me, with only that amount removed I should still be able to do
50 situps a day, does anyone know?

I was encouraged to do situps before my tram. Can do them with no
issue here.
I did not have a free tram but a pedicule tram like Lisa, but I can't
see if it would make a difference. Ask your surgeon - they will know
the answer. Alex
