Newly revised National Cancer Institute website
The National Cancer Institute, part of the U.S. National Institutes
of Health, has just completed a major overhaul of their website
at http://cancer.gov.
The site includes thousands of pages of information for health
professionals, patients, and families concerned with almost all
types of cancer. Information is available on treatment, screening,
prevention, supportive care, clinical trials, and many other topics.
Highly technical information, including the latest diagnostic and
treatment recommendations from the NCI is available, as well as
non-technical information accessible to lay persons with no
scientific background.
As both a computer programmer who has worked on
preparing materials that are included in this website, and as
a cancer survivor, I heartily recommend this website to
other cancer patients.
