How is that? CCDs don't work very well without battery power, and batteries
don't work well below 0 C - even lithium batteries. A mechanically-timed
manual camera will work fine; if it's cold enough long enough, you might
lose the meter, but even there if you're really worried you can buy a
pocketable battery pack for less than a hundred bucks. I just stick a
selenium meter in my pocket instead.

Had no problems with lithium batteries at -40c in siberia recently. LCD
screens more of a pain, but less so than brittle film in slrs.

I would rely on d100 or something similar with an fm2 as backup.
