Default New Filling Question

Recently had an old filling replaced in #12 with a tooth colored filling.
After a couple of adjustments the tooth is still sensitive to pressure. The
Dentist has recommended replacement of a portion of the filling based on
comments relative to how the material may not have bonded during the initial
replacement. As a matter of clarificaiton this tooth is not sensistive to
hot or cold and the pressure sensitivity is very specific and not always
present.

I would appreciate some perspective on how to approach this problem with the
hopes of correcting this problem.

Default New Filling Question

Flow diagram:

A) Pulp Test
1) bad results --> RCT
2) good results --> go to B)
B) Remove ENTIRE filling and replace with new
*use rubber dam
*make sure bonding agent is compatible with composite used
*use separate etching step and follow with a layer of Hurrideal or Gluma
C) Check symptoms
1) good results --> be happy and go home
2) bad results --> might still need RCT
D) As an aside,,,,,, Cerec restorations have much less sensitivity than
resin ones (In my personal experience, not the whole world)

Default New Filling Question

That's the problem! Dentists put in amalgam inside a toothshell. When
the cusp breaks years later, the dentist blemes amalgam but in fact
the toothshell is at fault!
