Default Ok to wait to finish root c****?

I completed the first stage of a root c**** last friday (the 9th of august).
Everything went smoothly, there was a tiny bit of pain for about a day and a
half but it went away. I know that normaly the crown and filling is
completed in 2 weeks however I have just learned that I will be away from
town for several weeks and will be unable to see my dentist for nearly 5
weeks. Would this cause any problem besides increasing the risk of cracking
the tooth? Could the temporary filling fail and cause the tooth to get
reinfected?

I guess I could get it filed down before I leave. What exactly does that
involve? I have no problem with simply not chewing on that tooth. It is the
second bottom right molar (not sure on the number, its the one after the
wisdom tooth). I dont touch the tooth at all when I chew on the other side
and I know I dont grind my teeth at night so I didnt think there would be
any serious risk of cracking it.

Much more than likely no.

Very, very doubtful.

You should be fine but get the crown as soon as practical.

You have no idea what forces your teeth endure during sleep.

Usually, there is no problem, but there is always some risk involved
with endo teeth cracking.

Three minutes with a diamond going across the entire top of the tooth
so the cusps cannot split apart ~ believe me they do!

Years ago it was standard therapy to cement a copper band around a
root c**** tooth so no splitting could occur. What happened to that?
