Default RCT 48hrs later...

It is now two days after the rct on a lower incisor. If put moderate
pressure with my finger on the *outside* (lower chin area) I feel pain
radiating all over the lower jaw. I tolerate pain very well but this one
hurts like no other. The dentist / oral surgeon who did this said that
it is normal. Is that so?

this is what happened Monday...

12:00
Took 2g of amoxicillin

1:00:
He numbed my mouth - drilled the tooth, etc. There was only one c****
for the tooth and he said the nerve and everything was necrotic.

1:10 filled the tooth then took an x-ray

1:30 ground it down and built it up with some floor caulking or whatever
it was... then cured it with a light.

1:45 restroom break for everyone, including me

2:00 got a temporary crown. will be 4 weeks for the permanent one to
come back.

He said the thing went very well and it looked great on the x-ray.
I went home without very much pain... no pain pills.

The next day (Tuesday) I have pressure and some pain. I'm still taking
3g of amoxicillin each day. I went back to the dentist to have my gums
checked out (pocket depth is 4 or 5 on some - is that bad?).. scheduled
cleaning job. He looked at my rct'ed tooth and said it looked good and
the pain is normal.

Today: 100% DEBILITATING PAIN. I'm popping Ibuprofen left and right and
taking lots of amoxicillin - now Augmentin 1g.

Is this *really* normal?! This is the first and only rct job I've ever
had done.

I did want the tooth pulled out and in fact I almost pulled it with
pliers... it was that bad. But I don't want to spend $4k for an implant.
I fashioned a fake tooth with my son's playdough. It looked really good
but not very functional. AND playdough has microbubbles that can harbor
deadly bacteria.

It's gonna take a few days for the tooth to settle down.
Call the dentist for a prescription for some pain meds.
