Default Temporary Cap Discomfort

Hi all: The other day my dentist made a temporay crown (front tooth)
made of acrylic. It has a post molded in it. I noticed that the fit is
differrent from the old permanent one that is going to replaced. I am
getting a little discomfort in the rear of the tooth. This is a root
c****ed tooth. It feels like the back of the tooth is not sealed very
well and I get a sensitivity that carries up into the a place below
the gumline. I have to wait another 2 weeks for ny next appointment
when he will remove the temp and make a new cast post. Anyone know why
I should get discomfort from a dead tooth?
Robert

Could be irritation of the gingiva (gum) by the temporary or the
preparation of the tooth.

Your best bet is to get it checked.

I've got to say that I am very pleased to have found this site and
gained knowledge about Cerec. I looked in the phone book and found a
dentist using Cerec and having a lab on the premises. The only
question is if he's as good as you? Mel

I expected you to tell me the truth and you DID!

Hi-Ho Steverino! :-)

Seriously, I thank you for all the information regarding Cerec. The
amazing thing is at my dentist today getting the permanent onlay, I
asked him about Cerec and guess what? He will have it available in the
near future. There is another dentist closer to where I live who is
using Cerec now. Considering the recent problems with my regular
dentist, I am inclined to check out this other dentist. However, I
have to say from reading your posts that I feel you are a dentist with
experience, knowledge, skill, and the highest integrity.

Mel

Now if there was just solid clinical proof that the Cerec restorations
were that much better than my direct composites, I might come on board.

Going to visit Flucke next month in KC.

And I've got my own *18 year* study myself (of direct composites).
