I have a question about crowns. Since moving to this town two years ago,
both my wife and I have spent more on detistry that in our entire lives.
Our dentist wants to put crowns on every tooth that has an old filling, even
though thos fillings are giving us absolutely no problems. I have already
has to have two root canals as a result of the crowns because the "nerve was
exposed" during the procedure. Every visit is like a sales job. Since we
have double insurance, is this guy just taking us to the cleaners or is
there a solid reason why every old filling should be replaced with a crown?

If you can post x-ray images, photos taken inside your mouth and an accurate
list of the dental findings, we can comment. Otherwise, it would be very
foolish to tell you yes or no.

You may be getting a "sales-job", but how would we evaluate it?

Sorry.
