What's this pimple on my gum?

I have a problem that I need some help with.

This morning I awoke with a tender spot between my upper lip and my left
nostril. On my gum was a small pimple that had a red raised cir***ference and a
whitish center. It was quite sore to the touch, but there was no pain on
biting down with any of the front teeth.
An hour or so later I ran my tongue over this pimple and felt something come
off. On my tongue I saw a small bit of white stuff, a quarter the size of a
grain of rice. Shortly I looked in the mirror and there was no sign of the
pimple, and the area was no longer tender.

I just saw my dentist three weeks ago and he took full mouth xrays as he does
every few years. He said everything looked fine. All my front upper teeth have
crowns, but no root c****s.

What could this have been?

Should I make another appointment with my dentist?

Possible periapical abscess fistulating (tunneling through) and
exiting .......

How did you determine what the "white stuff" is?

You must have had a course in dental school that I slept through!

Well, she said some white stuff came out of the tissue,
about ¼ the size of a grain of rice.

It very well could be CPAA but it could be a small sequestra
or foreign body.

If it returns, definitely CPAA w/ fistula.

Classes? Do all the other dental schools have those? They told me I had a
locker too, I just took the tests.
