attn Peepla ...Re: Coconut oil ??? (not spam) Re: HypOthyroid,Hashimotos and weight gain
Coconut oil is thick like Crisco or lard. I remember this from my days
20+ years ago working at a Taco Bell. Back then, all the tortilla
frying was done in house and with coconut oil. It was white with this
thick, creamy texture and I remember that it smelled wonderful. The
smell kinda reminded me of the sun tanning oils of the day with a
texture kinda like cocoa butter. My friend that work there with me and
I had always talked about using some on our skin as a tanning oil, but
never did. And this was back when they made cinnamon crispas. Large
flour tortilla were cut into wedges, deep fried, then sprinkled with
cinnamon-sugar. The coconut oil gave them such a great flavor, and sooo
good piping hot!!! Years ago when coconut oil was thought to be so bad
for you, I believe Taco Bell stopped frying all their tortillas with it.
And I think maybe now they have them shipped already fried and don't
do them in house?
