Loose Teeth (stroke weight)
Does anyone know about older peoples teeth becoming very loose
Sounds stupid but I never had experience with older people till now. I know she has lost weight since her stroke and thought maybe this could be the reason as her gums probably are shrinking too. She is in a wheel chair so she can't even get to a dentist, but its her very front teeth and I worry about her not being able to eat right. Thanks Nancy |

Nancy, I can only suggest that you feed her very soft food so she won't
need to chew it. My daddy threw his dentures across the room and broke them, so he was on soft food then as long as he lived. Loose Teeth (diet)
Rosie doesn't wear her dentures any longer
and the NH prepares a soft diet for her. There are many other residents who do the same. Just wondering why someone in a wheel chair cannot go to see a Dentist? -- John Inzer return e-mail disabled |

How so? Aren't there any dentists in your area that have offices that are wheelchair accessible? If not, a good ADA lawsuit would fix *that* problem! |

My dad still hasn't had a ramp put on the house to push the wheel chair
out. Mom wasn't suppose to have lived, in fact all funeral arragements were made etc. The doctors are totally amazed she is alive and talking. It will be a year New Years eve. We were told she was going to have another stroke. We have recently had someone to the house about building the ramp, but until that time, she doesn't go anywhere. |
