Default ritalin (ritalin ativan prozac exercise)

Hi everyone......anyone here over 50ish taking ritalin to 'get them going'.
I have no energy and just sit around like a zombie....been on prozac for 14
years and take ativan to help me sleep. Due to all the meds, I am obese,
unfortunately, but can't seem to get the energy to do exercise to get my
metabolism going. I was on ritalin in the past but came off it for
different reasons. Hope it gets me going as I need to start moving my body.
Thanks. Debbie (oh ya I have been ADD all my life and it guess worse the
older I get)

-Ritalin is some form of amphetamine, or speed if you prefer. It is a
powerful stimulant that in the long run burns your brain. Permanent
brain damage from extended use has been proved to occur. You will run
out of energy after using it a while, that's a characteristic of
virtually every SNC stimulant. Speed is speed. Ravers who take speed
it too frequently must up the dose drastically for example and it will
eventually stop working properly. Use of ritalin may also seriously
alter your personality, make you aggressive or jittery and cause heart damage. Tin-Tin

Default ritalin (ritalin heart insomnia)

Or it may do nothing at all for you except give you insomnia, which
was my experience. Still, your comment about ADD is interesting, and
it would be worth discussing ritalin with your doctor, who should know
the pros and cons both.

It's been stated that ritalin won't be of much help if you don't have
ADD.

Default ritalin (ritalin depression)

Ritalin and other stimulants are sometimes prescribed for depression,
which is why I was given a prescription for it. It didn't help me.

That's pretty much what the literature says.

Go down the main aisle at the library and turn RIGHT, not left. If you turn
left, you are in the fiction department, which is obsviously where you have
beren reading that literature.

-In other words, Doctor Cohen and Doctor Breggin's work is inspired from
fiction and Ritalin is a sleeping pill according to the CPS compendium. Oooooookay. Tin-Tin

pretty much. Perhaps even science fiction.

that conclussion does not follow from identifying the above as fiction.

Don't pay no mind to the replies you get from them trolling the attention
deficit NG.....although Probert is in earnest cause stimulants did wonders
for his son, others like Parsons, Morin, Knisley post posts mytholizing
stimulants while denying their short term and long term adverse effects for
personal agenda's have their own personal profit as motives.

You might be interested in checking out the sci.med.psychobiology ng...as
the discussions about psychotropic meds on that NG tend to be a little more
factual, and a lot less propagandizing than they are on the mental health
support groups.
