Default T3 and fat loss for someone who isn't hypothyroid (fat hypothyroidism)

Someone contacted the a.s.t. website team asking if T3 can help with fat
loss. This person does not have hypothyroidism. I offered to post the
question in the NG to get more responses, and he accepted this offer,
so...your responses?

Thanks,
Lois

Default T3 and fat loss for someone who isn't hypothyroid (fat thyroid weight)

I won't condone it. The risks are too high, particularly if you aren't
under a doctor's supervision. This particular issue, where someone wants to
use thyroid hormones as a weight loss aid, is one that makes it difficult
for thyroid patients to get the T3 they need.

Hi John

Yes, indeed! IMHO it is still one of the reasons many doctors don't like or
prescribe Armour/Natural Thyroid or a synthetic t4/t3 combination. The only
question I received from one doctor at a walk-in clinic for a Rx renewal
was: "how much do you weigh?"

Kindest regards,
Diana

Default T3 and fat loss for someone who isn't hypothyroid (fat depression)

But, t3 is prescribed widely for depression by psychiatrists so one has to
believe that at a low dosage it's not that dangerous???

They take high doses for short periods (so TSh will not get too
suppressed and one gets hypo afterwards) for fat loss and get very
hyper.
Don't ask me if it is safe.

That's about right...some body builders typically start at 25mcg per
day, building up over a few days to 100mcg per day. They stay on for
3 to 6 weeks, then cycle off. They're aware that the high dosages
cause muscle loss as well as fat, so they pump up on steroids at the
same time.

There a plenty of websites dedicated to this kind of hormone/steroid
cycling, a few minutes googling will provide lots of opinions on the topic.
