Default ECG and hand numbness

This is for information just in case anyone else has similiar symptoms -

Since I have started walking most days I noticed a sense of numbness round
the base of the left hand after about 5 minutes into the walk. It also
happens sometimes in the right hand, both fade away after a while though. At
my last MOT I mentioned it to the GP who very promptly booked me in for a
exercise ECG.

Had the ECG today, they checked medications, general health, smoker and so
on. Then basically they wired me up and got me walking on a treadmill. Every
3 minutes or so they take your blood pressure and then up the speed. For me
they stopped when I reached 300 heart beats per minute, I had no idea the
heart would go that fast!

After that they monitor you until you are back to normal breathing and heart
rate and let you rest for 15mins or so.

Fortunately they found nothing wrong, so all I have to think about now is
the original numbness, don't think its Neuropathy as its at the base of the
hand not the fingers. Ah well at least the hearts not in to bad shape :-)

It could be carpel tunnel syndrome. Often found in people with diabetes.
