Higher BP a year post CABG. Any ideas?
For a year after his CABGx2 my husband's blood pressure
[assisted by atenolol and ramipril] was a steady 120 / 80.
He hadn't had a blood pressure reading as perfect as that for
20 years. However over the last few months the diastolic
figure is creeping up again - it's now usually 90 with the
occasional reading of 100. Has anyone any ideas what
might be causing this? He did have to reduce his exercise
programme recently because of a foot injury and has
gained a little weight. Would this cause a 10 - 20 point
rise in diastolic pressure? Or should we be looking for
something else?
