Hi all,
Several things happened as most of you are aware of and I wanted to
update you.
I was at court yesterday for this guy's arraignment who had burgled
our home the day before (read about it on the other thread) and I had
an epipheny. The court was filled with pregnant women and women with
small children waiting on the men to be arraigned and it just made
me...sick. One woman was completely oblivious to her 3-4 y/o daughter
who tried desperately to get her to hold her. The woman had her hands
clenched and wouldn't even touch the little girl. The kid kept staring
at me and it broke my heart. This other girl VERY young, with a huge
belly walked right before my eyeballs almost in slo-mo until she sat
down with what appeared to be her mother and her heavily tattooed man.
It was bizarre. And then my robber showed up on TV screen. Essentially
this punk kid. And I thought damn, some people should not have kids
and if they have them, they shouldn't keep them. Somewhere there is a
kid that needs me.

And that was that. If this new cycle I just started doesn't work, I'm
done. Ultimately, I'm going to grieve not having "ours" a little mix
of DH and I because we are SUCH AMAZING people (really :-)))! But, we
like babies, kids and are good people and there are babies and kids
that need good people out there. So, if this doesn't work, its adotion
for us and no more IVF or IUI. Amen. :-) I feel SOOOOO much better.

Yes Kat there is. There are so many little ones out there desperate for a
loving and stabile home. I think its wonderful you have decided on being a part
of it all. Some of these kids that start off with such promise....end up
floating around in the system until they are 18....eventually they sit in the
very same court room you were in....all because they jad nobody to love,
support them and never give up on them.

I told you that at some point, you'd have your answer, clear. And there it
is. Good for you. It feels good to make that decision, doesn't it? I hope
that having the decision made, makes your cycle easier, and wouldn't it be
cool if it helped make it a successful cycle! You can always hope, and if
it's not successful, at least your alternative isn't a scary unknown!

In the meantime, do your adoption research and reading, and start making
some decisions about your process!

How beautiful, Kat! I can't say anything beyond what Jamie and Cyndie
have eloquently stated. Other than--I'm glad you're finding your
