That would be a pretty indirect way of knowing about your obstruction. There are methods of using an endoscopic exam which would give you a much more direct measurement. But if you are thinking of having surgery done, go to Google: groups and do a search of the archives of this newsgroup on the word surgery. You will learn a lot. There seems to be a evidence that surgery only improves apnea a little. Also go to the faq associated with this group http://www.talhost.net/sleep/index.html Under FAQ follow the links to sleep apnea related questions. Did a dentist create this jaw advancing appliance for you. Has he/she suggested a followup sleep study so you can *know* whether or not your rdi has improved? Let us know.
