i have numerous health problems of a chronic nature and am not
counting on being around for more than a few years, if i'm lucky.

without going into the boring details, i was wondering if anyone has
had luck with pain management here in Tucson, Arizona. my PCP is a
great guy, but won't write for pain unless he has a pain doctor's
recommendation. i have been on the same dosage of opiates for the
last year with no PRN/breakthrough meds.

i'm looking for doctors who aren't afraid to write prescriptions for
CII narcotics. i'm already addicted to a substantial amount of
fentanyl [200 mcg/hr] and would love to find a doc who could help me
out with breakthrough meds, i've even wanted to cut down on the
opiates and replace some of that dosage with a stimulant such as
adderall or desoxyn.

i have also suffered from depression all my life, have been on all
tricyclic antidepressants, both for depression and for peripheral
neuropathy. i have eaten a wheelbarrow full of neurontin, to no
avail. i have had acupuncture for a year, and seen several
chiropractors who hurt me more than helped me.

anyone have a pain doc in Tucson that they like? i'm not averse to
trying non-drug therapies, either, but drugs work quickest and best
for my pain.
